NFFN and NLIEC join forces for our biggest conference yet!
You are invited to join us in Denver, Colorado, on June 16-18, 2008, when the National Fuel Funds Network and National Low Income Energy Consortium convene the first National Energy and Utility Affordability Conference. This landmark event over three full days will combine and enhance the annual conferences that the NFFN and NLIEC have presented on five consecutive days since the mid-1980s. The 2008 conference will be the largest single U.S. gathering to address the need for affordable home energy and other utilities for people with low income.
NFFN and NLIEC are expecting some 700 participants representing nonprofit and government agencies, utilities and other institutions who provide utility and fuel bill assistance for families in need, energy efficiency and weatherization services and consumer education. The conference will feature nationally recognized speakers, workshops and hot topics roundtables on a wide variety of issues, exhibits, and other sessions. The intent is to provide valuable information for energy assistance professionals attending the conference and build national awareness of energy poverty. You can click on "Registration Brochure" at the top of the page or here to access a downloadable Adobe Acrobat PDF of the conference brochure.
The National Energy and Utility Affordability Conference will be preceded by the annual meeting of the National Energy Assistance Directors’ Association. As in past years, these events comprise the annual Joint Low Income Energy Conferences.

The
conference will be held at the Sheraton Denver (formerly Adam’s Mark) Hotel, which is located along
the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall in downtown Denver –
a mile-long, tree-lined promenade stretching through the heart of downtown. With
street vendors, souvenir shops, clothing and jewelry stores, and a wealth of
restaurants, this energetic strip offers plenty of variety. Free
shuttles provide transportation up and down the mall, allowing for convenient
cross-town sightseeing.
